MISSION WEEK ACTIVITIES - Y4
Our school recently celebrated mission week and year four would like to share some of their work and activities with you.
Monday - We worked with CAFOD and explored what we can do as Christians about climate change. We also explored other charities and how they show kindness to other people in the UK and around the world. We decided to show kindness to others by litter picking around school.
Tuesday - We learnt about respect and worked with the animate team, to develop ideas about showing respect and kindness to others. Children also made their own kindness board games in class!
Wednesday - Today's focus was on diversity. Children explored what is special about themselves, including playing the name game and also creating their own personal wordles to show their own special qualities and how it is ok to be different from others. The children also watched a Quasimodo pantomime!
Thursday - We had a special visit from a Muslim speaker who shared with children many interesting facts about his religion. In class, the children researched about the four inspirational people our school has chosen for their sports day team names (Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Anne Frank, Oscar Romero). We sang songs, watched video, performed role plays and shared our information booklets.
Friday - Sports day. The children worked together and picked their own events. We had an awesome time, showing each other respect, hope, kindness, joy, forgiveness, gentleness and honesty.
