Tennis Competition at Chorley Cricket Club – well done to Thomas L, Cyrus V, Sophia T & Phoebe T who represented the school at the tennis competition. They were fantastic and a real credit to the school. Well done!

Borwick – What a week! The children have had an amazing week, fun filled with lots of activities and adventures. Unfortunately some children and staff came down with a sickness bug and had to return home early but I am sure this has not dampened the memories of the fun that they have had. They ALL need a good rest over the weekend.

Uniform – We have a new additional supplier as well as Termtex/Slaters. The new supplier is ‘Standish Sports and Uniform’ based in Standish: The Standish Centre, Cross Street, Standish, WN6 0HQ. Tel 01257 400010.

Signing in Process You may have noticed that we have a new screen in the office Reception area for signing pupils and visitors in and out of school. All children who enter/exit school via the school office will need to use the screen to enter/exit the building at any time of day so that we have an accurate record of pupils entering/exiting school. Please note that any child signing in after 9:05am via the office will automatically get a ‘Late’ mark unless it has been for a medical appt or other approved reason.

PTFA Fun Run – The PTFA are having their sponsored fun run on Monday 25th June. All children can come to school in their own “bright” sports clothes. Each class will be taking part throughout the day as follows:-

Year 6 - 9:15 – 9:45am

Year Rec - 9:45 -10:15am

Year 1 – 10:15 – 10:45am

Year 2 - 10:45 – 11:15am

Year 3 – 1:15 – 1:45pm

Year 4 – 1:45 – 2:15pm

Year 5 – 2:15 – 2:45pm

A sponsor form has been sent home with children, please support your child/ren and asked friends and family to do so too. Parents/carers are invited to come and cheer for their children at the relevant times as above.

Uniform – We have a new additional supplier as well as Termtex/Slaters. The new supplier is ‘Standish Sports and Uniform’ based in Standish, The Standish Centre, Cross Street, Standish, Lancashire WN6 0HQ. Tel 01257 400010. Our uniform does not appear on their website at this stage but please feel free to contact them if you wish to make purchases. They offer a range of services and easy ways to purchase uniforms. For details please see their website www.ssandu.co.uk

Please can we remind parents, particularly of older pupils, that trainers are not part of the school uniform and should not be worn unless prior consent has been given by school.

Our stock of spare uniform is running low particularly in the infants, if you have any out grown uniform that is still in a good condition we would welcome any donations. Please hand them in to your class teacher.

Swimming - Year 3 will stop now until September. The new National Curriculum requirements for swimming and water safety state that by the time children leave primary school, they should be able to:

  • swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
  • use a range of strokes effectively
  • perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

As a school, we are required to report on the number of our children who reach this standard by the end of KS2. If your child is in Year 4, 5 or 6, and has completed the block of school swimming lessons without reaching this standard, they may need some additional swimming sessions after the holiday. You should have received a letter inviting them to an assessment the first week back. Please contact school if you have not received this letter and you think your child needs more support with swimming.

Are you Sun Ready? – Please can we request that children have a sunhat in school and suncream applied at home on days when necessary? Also children should not have sunglasses in school but should have a fresh water bottle each day? Please also see the leaflet attached electronically for details of a drop in session at Fairview if you are travelling abroad this summer.

SchoolMoney/Eduspot -When logging into the app, please chose the “parent login” button, NOT the “school login” which will not allow you to access your child’s account.

Infant Meals – Please can we request that pupils do not switch from having a school dinner to packed lunches on an ad hoc basis?

Uniform - Please can we remind parents, particularly of older pupils, that trainers are not part of the school uniform and should not be worn unless prior consent has been given by school.

Office hours – Please not the office is closed between 9.30am and 11am
