Each week we will report at the top of the newsletters each class’ attendance figures for the term. Do have a look and monitor the impact that absence has on overall attendance figures. Last year our whole school attendance was 97.25% which was great and we thank you for your support but it would be amazing to get it above 98%! Our highest achieving pupils last year had outstanding attendance (average 99%) throughout their final year here with us.

European Day of Languages – This will be celebrated in school on Wednesday 26th September. The classes will be given a country and the children can wear the colours of their country’s flag to school that day. If your child already owns the country’s football kit, they may wear this to school as an alternative. Please do not make any special purchases for the day; a close match will be fine! Classes will pair up to share food, stories, songs, dances etc. from that particular country.

Classes 1 & 4 – France

Classes 2 & 5 – Spain

Classes 3 & 6 – Germany

Asthma – Please can parents/carers ensure that we have a named inhaler and spacer in school if you have notified us that your child has asthma.

Years 5 & 6 After School Football Club – Due to staff training on Monday 24th September and Monday 1st October the football club for these weeks will take place on Wednesday 26th September and Wednesday 3rd October. Please advise if your child has signed up to do football but cannot make it on these two dates or if there will be a change to their collection routine. The club will return to normal on Monday 8th October.

Junior Book BagsPlease can we remind parents that all children require a school book bag to take books to and from school. Large bags/rucksacks are not permitted due to a lack of storage space.
