Welcome

Welcome to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Anderton

St Joseph's is a voluntary aided Catholic primary school serving the semi-rural village of Anderton, near Chorley.  It serves the township of Adlington and the parishes of Anderton and Heath Charnock.  The school enjoys excellent relationships with the parish and the local community in this friendly village.  In addition, we work closely with all the local nurseries, as well as having very strong links with the local high schools, particularly Holy Cross in Chorley and St Joseph's in Horwich, who work with the school to provide invaluable extra curricular and cross curricular support.

As part of our extended services provision, we work closely with Anderton Day Nursery to provide breakfast and after-school care, and we also work with the other Adlington nurseries and schools to jointly fulfill other necessary provision.

We are committed to providing an education which is exciting, broad, balanced and accessible to all.  The happiness and fulfilment of your child is our primary concern and we believe that, in order to achieve this, we need to develop a secure partnership between home and school.  We strongly encourage parental support and involvement in the life of our school.

We are a key partner in the Yarrow Teaching School Alliance, working in partnership with others to provide school to school support, continuing professional development, initial teacher training and research and development.  We are also working closely with the Skelmersdale alliance, providing placements for trainees. For more information about the alliance, visit the website at www.yarrowteachingschoolalliance.co.uk and the Skelmersdale alliance at http://www.northwestscitt.com
