Home Learning wb 8th February
Hello and I hope you and your family are continuing to keep safe and well.
As we approach the end of this half-term may I extend my utmost gratitude and appreciation towards all the Year 5 pupils who have reacted superbly and with great resilience to everything which has happened during the past few weeks. The quality of work produced and the efforts pupils have displayed both in school and at home has been inspiring.
I would also like to extend my sincerest gratitude and appreciation to all the parents, carers, grandparents and other grown ups who have supported, encouraged and helped all the Year 5 children to continue to work to the best of their abilities. Thank you.
The timetable for this week shows that we will be concluding our No Problems Maths unit on decimals ending with a review on Friday. Literacy work begins with some follow up lessons based on Pie Corbett's live lesson from last week (there is another live lesson on Thursday) before we start to use the One Chance booklet that your child received recently. Guided reading sessions are based on the book Brightstorm by Vashti Hardy that forms the basis for Pie Corbett's live lessons.
Afternoon lessons focus on space, PE and fitness, music with Miss Dixon, the Passover story in RE and mapping skills in geography.
Year 5 pupils will also share a special zoom assembly on the life of Sir Captain Tom Moore which leads to an inspirational challenge each Year 5 child can participate in.
Towards the end of the week, there may be a treat or two in store for the Year 5 pupils - more details to follow.
As usual, if you have any questions or require any support with anything please keep in touch.
Best wishes and take care, Mr.Merrick
