Summer Term

Class Arrangements for September 2020

As we approach the end of what has been a very unusual year at school, we look forward to a brighter, more positive future in terms of another academic year. We do not know for sure yet what school will look like in September, but hopefully we will see children returning to a more normal situation with the rest of their class.

We finish for the Summer holidays on Friday 17th July. School will not be open over the holidays. Our planned date for the Autumn term to begin is Wednesday 2nd September. We will confirm this with parents as soon as we have this information.

The class arrangements for next year in terms of staffing are:

Reception – Miss Singleton

Year 1 – Ms Grime

Year 2 – Miss Johnson

Year 3 – Mrs Pearson

Year 4 – Miss Issa

Year 5 – Mr Merrick

Year 6 – Mrs Canavan

Usually the children would have some transition time with their new teacher before the new year starts. We intend to have some transition days in September so that the children have the opportunity to meet with their previous teacher again in their classroom before they move on to their new setting. The recovery curriculum will have at its heart, the well being of the children as well as academic catch up.

Each child will receive an adapted school report via email on Friday 10th July. Parents and children are encouraged to add their own comments based on the progress made with home learning. Once this is emailed back to school, a hard copy will be posted out.

We know that this has been a difficult time for everyone and the staff have asked me to pass on their thanks for the many messages of appreciation they have had from parents over the weeks. We are very much looking forward to having everyone safely back in school when we can.

Kind regards

Mrs Brownsey and the staff at St Joseph’s
