Victorian School Day

Lesson: History

Class: Class 2 Year: 2020 - 2021

Take a look at all of the wonderful learning that took place during our Victorian School Day. It was such a great way to begin our new topic. We began the day with a 1 hour 'strict Victorian session'. The children got to experience what it would have really been like in a Victorian school .....and let's just say....they didn't like it too much! We did copy writing, times tables, handwriting and drawing skills on our chalk boards.  I think it goes without saying that they are all very glad that they were born in the 21st Century! Following this, we spent the rest of the day exploring some of the things that Victorian children would have done. The children enjoyed making samplers, practising their straight back walking, making cup and ball toys and learning about Queen Victoria. Finally, we finished our day with some Victoria Sponge cake! It would have been rude not to! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful costumes that the children wore, they all looked absolutely amazing! It was great for them to learn by experiencing it for themselves!
