Year 5 filtration science lesson

Year 5 pupils enjoyed investigating how to separate a mixture of sand and water through a process called filtration. Pupils showed some excellent knowledge and understanding as they discussed how they would fill a bottle with water by using a filter funnel, filter paper and a mixture of water and sand. To complete the lesson, pupils discussed how they would be able to make safe the water they had collected and be able to drink it through boiling, evaporating and condensation. Well done Y5
